ROLE TITLE: Guidewire Policy Center Architect

ROLE LOCATION(S): Hybrid (3 days onsite)

ROLE SUMMARY

The Guidewire Policy Center Architect is essential in developing and implementing innovative solutions utilizing the latest features of the Guidewire platform. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of version 10's enhancements, modules, and integration frameworks, ensuring that technical designs align with organizational objectives and IT strategies, ultimately enhancing the functionality of the Guidewire ecosystem.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and execute scalable solutions using Guidewire Policy Center v10 to fulfill business needs.

• Convert complex business requirements into technical solutions within the Policy Center framework.

• Conduct product modeling assessments, manage technical design, and oversee configurations for new product launches.

• Stay informed about the latest Guidewire Policy Center v10 features and assess their applicability for the organization.

• Maintain best practices in architecture and design within the Guidewire environment.

• Customize and enhance products, user interfaces, workflows, and business rules using Guidewire Studio.

• Leverage available accelerators to streamline development and utilize established architectural patterns.

• Manage application configurations, software releases, and upgrade processes effectively.

• Maintain development environments and manage coding branches across various product lines.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams, ensuring effective technical leadership and project management.

• Collaborate with stakeholders and lead both onshore and offshore development teams to ensure timely solution delivery.

• Utilize project lifecycle management tools to maintain transparency in development activities.

• Work closely with Project Management and Analysis teams for requirements gathering, scoping, and planning.

• Advise the QA team on potential impacts to support adequate test case development.

• Collaborate with Guidewire, third-party vendors, and other development teams for a cohesive insurance platform.

• Recommend new features of Guidewire Policy Center v10 for future implementation.

• Address complex technical challenges throughout the project lifecycle.

• Drive continuous improvement by assessing new technologies and methodologies.

• Establish and uphold engineering standards related to security, logging, alerting, and coding practices.

• Ensure GUnit test cases are integrated into CI/CD pipelines for optimal code coverage.

• Assist in scripting and automating deployments to minimize manual tasks.

• Maintain thorough technical documentation, including architecture diagrams and production runbooks.

• Manage production applications against KPIs and troubleshoot issues across deployment layers.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in Guidewire Policy Center development, including experience as a Technical Lead on at least three full-scale commercial policy product implementations.

• Proven leadership and post-implementation ownership of Guidewire Policy Center products.

• At least 8 years of experience leading and managing onshore/offshore development teams for Guidewire product implementations.

• Over 10 years of Java development experience, with Guidewire Policy Center certification preferred.

• Expertise in Guidewire APIs, Product Designer, GX Model, and integrations.

• Proven experience with Guidewire Rating engine and configurations.

• Knowledge of Guidewire Renewal API and data migration strategies.

• Familiarity with ALM best practices for code versioning, integration, release management, and maintenance of Guidewire Policy Center products.

• Experience with Guidewire application partitioning and optimization for performance and scalability.

• Proficiency in secure software development practices and architectural standards specific to Guidewire configurations and integrations.

• Experienced with Agile SCRUM methodology and tools in a technical leadership capacity.

• Skilled in managing DevOps processes, including Builds, CI/CD Pipelines, and Version Control.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge of commercial P&C insurance is a plus.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to navigate ambiguity and guide teams toward effective solutions.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, or a related field is strongly preferred.
