Job Title:
Certified Healthcare Coding Specialist

Location:
Lincoln Hospital, Bronx, NY

Compensation:
$27/hr to $34/hr

Contract Duration:
3 months (with potential for extension)

Work Schedule:
Day shift, 5 days a week (09:00 AM - 05:00 PM)

Essential Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience in medical coding
- Proficient in ICD10 coding
- Experience in an acute care environment
- Strong computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and coding software (ICD 9 CM, CPT 4, Encoder)
- Familiarity with coding guidelines, payer regulations, and federal billing standards
- Solid understanding of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
- Ability to investigate coding-related inquiries and provide coder training
- Certification as CCS and familiarity with 3M/HDS coding applications
- Experience in outpatient and emergency department coding.

Key Responsibilities:

- Perform medical coding in an acute care setting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established guidelines.
- Utilize proficient computer skills to manage coding tasks effectively.
- Maintain knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to support coding accuracy.



Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED, along with certifications such as AHIMA, RHIA, RHIT, or CCP, CCS.
