Job Summary:

US Oncology Network-wide Career Opportunities is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Floater to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician Floater, you will play a critical role in supporting the technical aspects of medication preparation, distribution, and inventory control within our licensed pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the preparation of medication orders by compounding or admixing medications under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.
  • Verify patient information and proper physician authorization.
  • Under direct supervision, admix drugs as ordered by physician in an accurate and timely manner as per department guidelines.
  • Calculate correct dosage volumes, converting between metric and apothecary equivalents.
  • Assist in counting controlled drugs weekly and maintain records.
  • Properly dispose all materials used when mixing chemo or non-chemo IVs.
  • Assist in cleaning hoods daily and checking drugs monthly for outdates and other quality assurance activities as assigned.
  • Provide support with inventory control of medications, prepare labels, and file and prepare billing.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Entry-level to three years of experience in a pharmacy.

Physical demands of this job typically require a full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity, eye-hand coordination, and the ability to read and note appropriate measurements. Requires sitting/standing for extensive periods of time, occasionally lifting and carrying items weighing up to 40 lbs, and corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
