Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will work alongside our experienced veterinarians and veterinary technicians to provide exceptional care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with appointments, prepping patients for surgery, and maintaining medical equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery, and minor procedures.
  • Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner.
  • Obtain accurate vitals, medical histories, and note any changes in patient condition to veterinarians.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples, such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies.
  • Care and maintenance of all medical equipment, including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and other essential tools.
  • Provide high-quality client communication on patient updates and questions.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED certificate.
  • Flexible schedule, including some weekend and vacation shifts.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and animal handling.
  • Strong communication skills, good judgment, and ability to manage stressful situations.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
