Job Summary:

ENTEGRA is seeking an Electronics Technician to join our team. As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and improvements to the In Line Inspection (ILI) tools.

This role tracks the reliability of the ILI tool systems investigating failures to a root cause level. Create, implement, and track corrective and preventative actions to improve the quality of the ILI tool and supporting systems.

The ideal candidate will have excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills in both the mechanical and electronic disciplines allowing him or her to continually increase the success rate.

This position requires ad-hoc travel throughout the UK & Europe, also some travel to Canada and the US should be expected.

This position reports to the Operations Manager. The home base for this position is Spencers Wood, Berkshire.

Responsibilities:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools, specifically, with small tools used when working on electronics, soldering iron, wire strippers, crimping tools etc.
  • Ability to use mechanical & electrical drawings and procedures to re-build mechanical & electrical assemblies.
  • Experience in undertaking maintenance, fault diagnosis and rectification work.
  • Inspection work on equipment installed in hazardous areas.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work alone or in a team depending on the job requirements.
  • Flexible, reliable, and conscientious approach to work
  • Ability to work under pressure and stress and balance multiple priorities while working to tight deadlines.
  • Good organizational skills
  • Comfortability with some field-based work and the travel involved.
  • Ability to drive long distances, alone, in Europe.

Requirements:

  • 2-year College and/or Technical Electronic Degree
  • Previous Electronics experience, for example: PCB, electronic wiring and wiring harness
  • Experience with small hand tools (crimpers, wire strippers) and soldering electronic subassemblies (wires and harness assemblies, splicing, heat shrinking)
  • Relevant training certification and/or evidence of competencies to support knowledge and experience

Additional Requirements:

  • Authorization to work in the United Kingdom for any employer.
  • Successfully passing a Drug and Alcohol Test (required as a condition of employment)
  • Willingness to submit to a background check (conviction record will not necessarily prevent applicants from being employed)
  • Proof of valid UK driving license
  • Passing a fitness to work medical.
  • Ability to work long hours, including early morning start and/or late evening finish.
  • Ability to routinely lift and carry up to 25kg.
  • Ability to wear a respirator (this would require being clean shaven as needed)
  • Ability to work under extreme weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time within the UK, Europe, and potentially longer haul international travel.
