Job Summary:

This Accounting/Bookkeeping Deputy (Grade 9) position is responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely execution of fiscal responsibilities in a high-volume office. The successful candidate will possess strong bookkeeping and financial management skills, with the ability to prepare and process financial transactions, reconcile accounts, and prepare reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collects and processes fines, costs, bonds, and other financial transactions
  • Maintains and updates ledgers and financial records
  • Prepares daily cash settlement slips, batch control cards, and bank deposit slips
  • Reconciles monthly bank statements and prepares financial reports
  • Ensures timely disbursements to city, county, or state agencies

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • Proven bookkeeping or financial experience, with knowledge of accounting principles and software applications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced office environment with frequent deadlines

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of the court/criminal justice system
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook
