Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Engineer I to join our team at Sargent Aerospace Inc. This role will be responsible for driving quality improvements, reducing manufacturing costs, and improving efficiency in our precision bearing manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement Lean Six Sigma methodologies to drive quality improvements and reduce waste
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement manufacturing processes and tools
  • Analyze and resolve manufacturing process issues and implement corrective actions
  • Provide technical guidance and support to production personnel
  • Develop and maintain detailed manufacturing instructions and process documentation
  • Design and implement tooling and fixtures for manufacturing and validation of products
  • Coordinate the acquisition and implementation of capital equipment and expenditures
  • Implement process documentation and provide training for production personnel
  • Participate in the engineering change process and contribute to the development of new technologies and processes
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, or equivalent experience
  • Ability to read and interpret assembly drawings and procedures
  • Basic knowledge of GD&T, schematics, and relevant test and inspection equipment
  • Basic knowledge of solid modeling and Lean and Six Sigma Principles
  • Demonstrated cost savings projects and hands-on abilities
  • Attendance and punctuality at work are essential functions of this position
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in mechanical and/or hydraulic systems
  • Experience in a Manufacturing Aerospace, Defense, or other regulated industry
  • Lean/Six Sigma (Yellow) Belt certification
