Job Title: Behavior Therapist

The Center for Autism and Related Disorders, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Behavior Therapist to join our team. As a Behavior Therapist, you will play a vital role in implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment programs for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

Job Summary:

As a Behavior Therapist, you will work under the direction of a Clinical Supervisor to provide direct treatment to patients in a 1:1 or group environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct treatment that exceeds our clinical quality standards
  • Collecting and recording data on patient progress with high fidelity
  • Reviewing and implementing Clinical Supervisor feedback during each treatment session
  • Communicating effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and colleagues
  • Providing a safe and supportive environment for patients, families, and colleagues
  • Maintaining accurate and timely records
  • Maintaining compliance with HIPAA requirements at all times
  • Representing our organization professionally and ethically to internal and external stakeholders
  • Adhering to our policies and procedures
Requirements:

To be successful as a Behavior Therapist, you will need:

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • To pass our initial Behavior Technician Training program, including passing a comprehensive written exam and field evaluation
  • Experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is preferred
Work Environment:

Treatment may occur in a variety of settings, including the patient's home, our center, the patient's school, the community, or via telehealth. As a Behavior Therapist, you will work in environments that are both indoors and outdoors and may move between different locations throughout the course of the work day.

Physical Requirements:

You will be required to:

  • Work with patients who are seated on the floor, in small chairs, or other home, school, community, and clinic environments
  • Move frequently throughout the therapeutic setting to gather materials, anticipate and respond to the movement of a patient, and/or provide instruction in a variety of settings
  • Constantly position yourself to participate and respond to the movements and behaviors of patients
  • Occasionally move to evade aggressive behaviors and/or physically block attempts to aggress towards others
  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings as they relate to the patient's natural environment
