Nursing Clinical Supervisor

Position Overview:

The Nursing Clinical Supervisor is entrusted with the comprehensive management of patient care delivered by the clinical team, ensuring excellence in service and personnel oversight.


Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Active RN license in the relevant state, or a current multistate/compact license.
  • A minimum of three years of nursing experience is required.
  • At least one year of supervisory or management experience is preferred.
  • Current BLS certification for healthcare professionals is mandatory.
  • Certification from HPNA should be obtained within two years of assuming the role.
  • Experience in oncology, hospice, or home health settings is advantageous.
  • Prior experience in geriatric care is preferred for Nursing Home Supervisors.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license and automobile insurance as per company policy.
  • Demonstrated abilities in fiscal responsibility, communication, interpersonal relations, problem-solving, team motivation, planning, and conflict resolution.
  • Capability to operate equipment with visual and auditory functions.
  • Proficient in English communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to navigate various home environments, including stairs and confined spaces.
  • Capacity to manage the emotional demands of working with terminally ill patients and their families.
  • Physical ability to perform essential job functions, including lifting and mobility tasks, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee clinical staff to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery, achieving desired outcomes.
  • Facilitate complex patient care discussions to meet established care goals.

  • Direct weekly interdisciplinary group meetings effectively.
  • Provide constructive feedback and monitor clinical staff accountability through audits and quality assessments.
  • Ensure seamless coordination of patient care among all stakeholders.
  • Administer direct nursing care to select patients as necessary to maintain clinical competence.
  • Collaborate with management to align staffing with budgetary requirements.
  • Work with various departments to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Ensure timely completion of processes for regulatory compliance.
  • Engage in quality assurance projects and initiatives.
  • Address patient and family concerns promptly and effectively.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
