Job Overview

At LPW Group, we are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team in Houston, TX. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer of specialty valves, fittings, and other flow control products. As a Purchasing Specialist, you will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing all non-capital needs, including computer equipment, office supplies, factory materials, and services.

Estimated Salary: $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on experience.

About the Role:

  • Sourcing and purchasing all non-capital needs, including computer equipment, office supplies, factory materials, and services.
  • Reviewing production schedules and related information to determine material requirements.
  • Conferring with department supervisors to identify overdue materials and track material.
  • Reviewing all open requisitions for status of order and disposition in a timely fashion.
  • Contacting vendors for the status of open quotes and following through on completion of quote process.
  • Developing and maintaining approved vendor lists in accordance with Q.A. guidelines.
  • Compiling and maintaining manual or computerized records, such as material inventory, in-process production reports, and status and location of materials.
  • Resolving discrepancies between Purchasing contract and vendor invoice.
  • Performing maintenance work on purchase orders through the computer as needed.
  • Consulting catalogs and interviewing suppliers to obtain prices and specifications.
  • Preparing and submitting reports, documents, and records required by company policy.
  • Observing all company policies and regulations, including safety, housekeeping, and quality of work.
