Job Overview

Astrolab is seeking a highly skilled Sr. Avionics Engineer to join our team of best-in-class engineers building the foundation of planetary surface exploration.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop full component and system ownership throughout the entire design lifecycle.
  • Architect rover avionics systems and design state-of-the-art avionics systems for the lunar surface.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless subsystem integration of mechanical, electrical, and software systems.
  • Develop test plans and procedures, and support the execution of test events.
  • Lead Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and resolutions.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering, or mathematics).
  • 5+ years' of experience in spacecraft systems design and/or avionics component design.
  • Preferred Bachelor's, Master's, or Doctorate of Science degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering.
  • Experience in one or more of: analog/digital circuits, embedded firmware, Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA), serial and parallel communication protocols, Ethernet, Spacewire, RS-422, and other communication protocols.
  • Experience in avionics screening techniques and standards, including shock, vibe, thermal, and radiation.
