About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Estimator to join our team at Michael Page. As a key member of our estimating department, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate.
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings, bid strategy, and marketing presentations as requested.
  • Prepare estimates by calculating complete takeoff of certain sections and reviewing vendor quotations.
  • Review and incorporate historical data from prior projects as required.
  • Interface with Owner, A/E and /or subcontractors to provide accurate cost estimates.
  • Prepare conceptual estimates as needed by our clients.
  • Participate in plan review and estimating reviews for prospective projects.
  • Understanding of construction specifications and blueprint reading.
  • Responsible for soliciting subcontractors/suppliers to ensure proper coverage.
  • Utilize and complete the subcontractor pre-qualification.
  • Identify and distribute documents to interested bidders.
  • Leadership during the design process through a design-assist process, value engineering opportunities, alternates and material replacements, new techniques/ideas/products, and subcontractor relationships.
  • Lead efforts to secure long lead subcontractors and materials.
  • Work with Cities and Municipalities to identify and procure required permits.
Requirements
  • BA/BS degree construction management, engineering, or 5+ year(s) experience in the estimating or project management field.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
  • Ground up project knowledge and experience preferred.
  • Proficient in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, Sage, MS Project.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Interesting in mentorship opportunity.
  • Quantity takeoff and cost estimate experience.
