About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cancer Registry Specialist to join our team at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC). As a key member of our cancer registry team, you will play a critical role in collecting and analyzing data to improve patient outcomes and advance cancer research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and abstract data from patient medical records, including demographic information, cancer diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up data.
  • Data Quality and Integrity: Ensure the accuracy and completeness of cancer registry data, adhering to established standards and guidelines.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with clinicians, epidemiologists, and researchers to provide data support for cancer-related studies and projects.
  • Reporting and Data Dissemination: Prepare and disseminate cancer registry data to stakeholders, including hospital leadership and external researchers.
  • Compliance and Certification: Maintain certification as a Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) and ensure compliance with The Commission on Cancer's program standards.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree in Health Sciences or related field.
  • Certification: Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification preferred.
