Position Overview:
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) operates at a proficient level in delivering respiratory care. The RRT is skilled in managing patients with emergency, acute, and intensive care requirements, demonstrating clinical leadership and contributing to care standards and departmental objectives.
The RRT serves as a mentor for colleagues, guiding new staff and enhancing respiratory care knowledge within the team.
The role involves adhering to the directives of physicians and established organizational protocols, along with the guidelines set forth by the American Association of Respiratory Care.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Practice:
Deliver comprehensive care to patients and families through a holistic approach. Ensure documentation accurately reflects patient outcomes and adjustments to care in accordance with hospital standards and policies.
Employ innovative problem-solving strategies and prioritize effectively based on evolving situations.
Recognize the emotional and practical needs of families related to their child's condition, establishing therapeutic boundaries and integrating diverse family dynamics into care plans.
