Job Summary

The Director of Prevention will lead and oversee all prevention and outreach activities in Summit and Medina Counties, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission and vision to eradicate domestic violence and sexual violence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for all prevention programs, including community events, awareness campaigns, and resource distribution.
  • Oversee all education and outreach efforts, including curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Develop new prevention initiatives and enhance existing programs, ensuring they are evidence-based, culturally responsive, and effective in addressing the needs of diverse communities.
  • Facilitate the Engaging Men and Boys curriculum, delivering workshops and training sessions aimed at promoting healthy masculinity, gender equality, and bystander intervention.
  • Lead the implementation of the Coordinated Community Response framework for engaging men and boys as allies.
  • Collaborate with community partners, stakeholders, and agencies to develop a comprehensive approach to preventing violence.
  • Supervise a team of education and outreach staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
  • Conduct ongoing research on best practices in violence prevention strategies.
  • Use data to assess program effectiveness, make improvements, and report outcomes to funders and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Gender Studies, Public Health, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in gender and power-based violence prevention, with experience in curriculum development.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in supervisory roles, with demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong understanding of domestic violence, sexual violence, intersectionality, and social justice.
  • Proven track record in public speaking, workshop facilitation, and program management, including planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Maintain valid Ohio driver's license and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Represent Hope and Healing Survivor Resource Center by participating in community activities, coalitions, and taskforce groups as requested or assigned by supervisor.
  • Comply with agency policies and procedures, federal and state requirements, CARF standards, and educational/certification/registry requirements.
Work Environment

This position will be in a facility with victims of domestic violence or sexual assault. The employee may have interactions with families of these individuals, the assailants, and law enforcement.
