About the Role

Zoox is revolutionizing the transportation industry with its cutting-edge autonomous mobility solutions. As a key member of our System Design and Mission Assurance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and reliability of our autonomous vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement functional safety analyses, including hazard analysis, fault tree analysis, and failure mode effects analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop systems that meet safety and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development of system architecture diagrams and safety concepts to ensure complex system interactions are properly addressed.
  • Support the implementation of systems engineering processes, including cross-functional reviews of requirements and test cases.
  • Contribute to the development of test plans, test cases, and issue resolution processes.
Requirements
  • M.S. or higher degree in Automotive Engineering, Aerospace, Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical, Mechanical, or Systems Engineering.
  • Minimum of seven years of total engineering experience, with at least five years in System Safety or Functional Safety and Systems Engineering.
  • Experience with hazard analysis, functional decomposition, and developing safety requirements in line with ISO26262 recommendations.
  • Experience with system architecture diagrams and safety concepts dealing with complex system interactions.
  • Collaborative team player with strong written and in-person communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • ISO 26262 Certification.
  • Experience with a requirements management tool (e.g., Polarion).
  • Experience working on at least one project across its full development cycle.
  • Analytical skills and experience with a scripting or programming language (e.g., Python).
Compensation and Benefits

Zoox offers a comprehensive compensation package, including salary, Amazon Restricted Stock Units (RSUs), and Zoox Stock Appreciation Rights. The salary range for this position is $176,000 to $290,000, with a sign-on bonus possible as part of the compensation package. Compensation will vary based on geographic location and level.

Leveling and positioning within a level are determined by a range of factors, including relevant years of experience, domain knowledge, and interview performance.
