Position Overview:

CommonSpirit Health is a prominent healthcare organization dedicated to serving communities with exceptional medical care. The Director of Patient Care plays a pivotal role in shaping the nursing framework within our organization. This leadership position involves the strategic oversight of nursing practices, ensuring the delivery of superior, cost-effective patient care while aligning with the institution's objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with the Vice President of Patient Care to guarantee the provision of exemplary patient services that adhere to regulatory standards.
2. Foster a culture of excellence in nursing practice through effective leadership and mentorship.
3. Integrate the hospital's goals into nursing operations, ensuring alignment with overall organizational strategies.
4. Spearhead quality improvement initiatives and develop actionable plans for ongoing enhancement.
5. Manage the fiscal budget, monitoring expenditures and collaborating with procurement for optimal supply chain management.
6. Adjust staffing models based on patient needs and unit activity to ensure adequate care delivery.
7. Oversee the annual capital budget, prioritizing equipment needs based on clinical requirements and growth opportunities.
8. Cultivate an environment that promotes professional development and retention of nursing staff.
9. Ensure recruitment strategies attract top-tier nursing talent and maintain a high retention rate.
10. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance patient care delivery.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required, along with a Master’s degree in Nursing, MBA, or MHA. Internal candidates must complete their Master’s program within a specified timeframe.
Experience: A minimum of four years in nursing within a tertiary acute care setting, alongside five years of management experience at the nurse manager level or higher.

Licensure: Must possess a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Skills and Competencies:
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and organizational abilities are essential. Proficiency in developing professional presentations and managing data is required, along with strong time management skills.
