Utility Metering Solutions (UMS) is seeking a skilled Water Meter Installation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) team, you will be responsible for installing, replacing, and testing water meters in various environments and locations.
Key Responsibilities- Install and replace water meters, ensuring proper orientation and functionality.
- Remove existing meters, fit for new smart meters, and replace dual check valves and curb stop valves as needed.
- Install and activate transmitters, using project-specific tools within specifications.
- Replace meter box lids to meet AMI requirements.
- Verify meter functionality and perform tests to ensure proper operation.
- Communicate effectively with customers and colleagues.
- Perform site work, including laying and replacing sod, and making necessary repairs.
- Ensure accurate data entry and record-keeping.
- Load and unload equipment, supplies, and tools.
- Assist with equipment operation and maintenance.
- Follow UMS safety procedures and utilize safety equipment.
- Meet productivity and quality standards.
- Valid Driver's License and proof of vehicle insurance.
- Pass drug screening and background check.
- Reliable transportation.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
