Overview:
The research team at the Lemole Center for Integrated Lymphatics Research focuses on the intricate development and functionality of lymphatic systems during both growth and disease states, utilizing advanced mouse models and in vitro methodologies. The group aims to unravel the mechanisms by which lymphatic vessels influence cardiac development and facilitate cardiac repair.

Role Summary:
The Assistant Scientist, under the guidance of Dr. Liu, plays a crucial role in providing technical expertise by conducting scientific experiments within the laboratory environment. This position involves managing experiments or smaller research initiatives that necessitate specialized knowledge and experience in specific scientific domains. The Assistant Scientist is responsible for maintaining comprehensive records of data and may also assist in mentoring graduate and medical students in research techniques and protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Principal Investigator and laboratory personnel with fundamental laboratory tasks, including but not limited to PCR, western blotting, and immunohistochemistry.
- Oversee the maintenance of mouse colonies and manage laboratory supplies.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Life Sciences along with a minimum of two years of pertinent experience. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Essential Skills & Competencies:
- Proven research experience in molecular/cell biology, vascular biology, developmental biology, or related fields.
- Expertise in areas such as developmental biology, cell biology, imaging, and mouse models is highly regarded.
- Ability to work collaboratively under supervision as part of a research team.
