We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our surgical team at UnityPoint Health Finley Hospital. As a RN-Surgery, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary team to provide physical and psychological support to patients in the operative setting.
  • Deliver safe and reliable care for patients undergoing surgical procedures, utilizing the nursing process and critical thinking skills.
  • Provide patient advocacy while maintaining a strong understanding of a sterile environment.
  • Assist with patient care activities, including transporting patients, surgical scrub prep, positioning, and application of cautery ground pad and tourniquet cuff.
  • Maintain the integrity, safety, and efficiency of the sterile field, using aseptic technique and performing instrument, sponge, and sharp counts.
  • Document patient status and care given while the patient undergoes the surgical procedure.
Requirements:
  • Current licensure in good standing to practice as a Registered Nurse in Iowa.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or within three (3) months from date of hire.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certified within 6 months.
  • Specialty certification.
