Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Huntsville Hospital Health System. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing daily and monthly accounting functions, including the preparation and reconciliation of general ledger accounts and financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and record accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Calculate and review journal entries and balance sheet/account reconciliations in preparation for month-end and/or quarter-end processing.
  • Review daily cash activities and evaluate transactions in the general ledger to ensure financial accuracy and completeness.
  • Compile and analyze complex accounting information to provide management with critical business insights.
  • Prepare daily/monthly reports for key indicators and statistics.
  • Interact with management, operations, and staff in a professional and courteous manner to gather necessary accounting information and respond to information requests.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or better in Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and bank statement reconciliations.
  • Intermediate experience with MS Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to interact with patients, guests, physicians, and other employees.
