We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Health and Safety Programs Assistant to join our team at Turner Industries. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be self-driven, and work well in a cross-functional environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the design, development, and implementation of environmental, health, and safety databases, policies, and programs. This includes maintaining accurate and organized records of HSE-related documentation, uploading and maintaining relevant documents and certifications, and ensuring compliance with regulatory recordkeeping requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain Health and Safety databases, including analyzing data and reporting on trends.
- Upload and maintain relevant documents and certifications to third-party evaluators.
- Assist with the maintenance of accurate and organized records of HSE-related documentation.
- Develop and format HSE documents, presentations, and reports as needed.
- Ensure HSE records are complete, up-to-date, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
- Draft and distribute communications, announcements, and reminders regarding HSE initiatives and requirements.
- Act as a point of contact for updates to Corporate and Site-specific HSE policies and procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in office administration, business, or a related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in an administrative support role, preferably in a health, safety, or environmental context.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and Google Workspace.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment:
Normal business hours, 7:00-4:30 M-Th and 7:00-11:00 F. Some local travel to jobsites may occur and sporadic away travel to group meetings and educational conferences.
Climate-controlled office environment during normal business hours.
Physical and Mental Demands:
Employee may be required to perform tasks that involve reaching, handling, lifting, carrying, standing, sitting, walking, bending, seeing, and hearing.
Employee may be required to follow set procedures, apply basic mathematical skills, and follow oral and written directions.
