Job Summary

The Rental Sales Representative will be responsible for promoting Caterpillar equipment and allied product rental to all customers and markets in accordance with the policies of Carter Machinery Company, Inc. This role requires a strong sales background, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Sales and Rental: Promote Caterpillar equipment and allied product rental to customers and markets, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries, resolving issues, and building strong relationships with existing and potential customers.
  • Market Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, developing and executing strategies to increase rental sales and market share.
  • Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of Caterpillar equipment and allied products, staying up-to-date on new technologies and innovations.
  • Business Development: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement business growth strategies, including identifying new markets and opportunities.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Provide regular sales reports and analysis to management, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., business, marketing, sales).
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of sales experience, preferably in a related industry (e.g., heavy equipment, construction, engineering).
  • Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong sales and negotiation skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, lift and carry items up to 20 pounds, and travel frequently (up to 50% of the time).
