Job Summary

The RN House Supervisor - Clinical Operations Lead is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the Nursing Department during their shift. This role serves as a consultant to Registered Nurses, helping to solve clinical and personnel problems as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist unit nurses in problem-solving efforts and provide clinical backup as needed.
  • Staff personnel to ensure proper coverage based on patient acuity and census, utilizing overtime appropriately.
  • Monitor FTEs based on budget guidelines and complete daily staffing reports.
  • Assist in the orientation, evaluation, supervision, and discipline of personnel under the direction of the DON and Nurse Manager.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Managers to solve department problems and provide guidance to unit nurses in dealing with immediate personnel concerns.
  • Attend nursing department management meetings and participate in the development of policies and procedures.
  • Direct activities in emergency situations, including medical and psychiatric emergencies, and motivate staff to perform duties in an efficient and positive manner.
  • Facilitate interaction between nursing and other disciplines/hospital departments and serve as a liaison with physicians to ensure requests/concerns are handled in a satisfactory manner.
Requirements
  • Current and active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama.
  • Minimum of one year psychiatric/CD experience/mental health.
  • Management experience preferred.
