Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Pest Control Specialist to join our team at the City of New York. As a Pest Control Specialist, you will be responsible for abating emergencies and adhering to scheduled extermination needs for residents and public spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare for PHAS and correct PHAS deficiencies.
  • Treat move-outs, public spaces, grounds, community centers, management offices, and other NYCHA offices.
  • Perform yearly catch basin treatment for West Nile Virus.
  • Provide special treatment to combat fleas, ticks, maggots, and bed bugs.
  • Respond to HPD violations, Board of Health citations, and court orders.
  • Respond to CCC scheduled appointments for extermination.

Requirements:

  • A valid certificate as a Certified Commercial Pesticide Applicator for Industrial, Institutional, Structural, and Rodent Control (7A) issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.
  • A Motor Vehicle Driver License valid in the State of New York.

Working Conditions:

Assignments will be made throughout the five boroughs.
