Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex underwriting analysis and risk assessment to determine acceptability and pricing of risks.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with large producers and agencies to reach positive and profitable outcomes on complex, high-risk business.
  • Market and promote CNA's products and services through agencies and the brokerage community.
  • Stay up-to-date on state and industry regulations, trends, and best practices.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced underwriters and assist in the development of underwriting training.
  • Utilize advanced functionality in CNA's systems to perform day-to-day activities.
Requirements
  • Advanced technical expertise and underwriting skills.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.
  • Leadership skills and ability to mentor and guide others.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Typically a minimum of eight years underwriting experience.
