Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Professional Practice Specialist to join our team at Children's National Health System. This role is responsible for supporting the development of professional staff and other direct care givers in a defined service specialty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in and be accountable for the continuous assessment of service needs, strategic planning, process design, and goal attainment.
  • Collaborate with the department's Nurse Managers to support optimal service outcomes.
  • Provide for the development of professional staff and other direct care givers in a defined service specialty.
  • Act as a resource to other health care institutions on behalf of CNMC.
  • Conduct programs relative to area of specialty for other departments as necessary.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Education: BSN (Required)
  • Minimum Work Experience: 5 years Nursing experience (Required)
  • Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree, 2 years Experience in area of specialty
Functional Accountabilities
  • Professional Practice: Participate/support Shared Leadership, Contribute to CNMC's Magnet Journey, Ensure that nursing practice is based on evidence of best practice.
  • Education: Provide for the continuous assessment of assigned staff educational needs, Develop educational plans that meet organizational and departmental goals.
  • Clinical: Demonstrate and maintain clinical expertise in area of specialty, Facilitate problem solving of clinical care issues.
  • Quality/Research: Ensure that nursing practice is based on evidence of best practice, Direct and guide clinical quality improvement efforts.
  • Safety: Ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
