Job Summary

Regal Marine Industries Inc is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Upholstery Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for overseeing the production process, ensuring quality standards are met, and leading a team of skilled professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manufacturing Operations: Ensure that all manufacturing operations are conducted in accordance with Regal Marine Industries Inc's quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Actively coach and oversee lead(s) and hourly team members to achieve the highest levels of productivity and quality.
  • Training and Development: Train and motivate team members to improve their skills and knowledge, and to achieve their full potential.
  • Scheduling and Time Management: Communicate daily schedules with production team members and track team member time and attendance according to Regal Marine Industries Inc's Attendance & PTO Policy.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot issues on the production line related to the boat manufacturing process.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work with other departments to ensure parts are completed according to schedule.
  • Quality Control: Produce manufacturing defect lists, write Corrective Action Requests, answer technical questions, and order appropriate materials.
  • Management Responsibilities: Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable state and federal laws.
  • Employee Relations: Interview team members, plan, assign, and direct work, appraise performance, reward and counsel team members, address complaints, and resolve problems.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure manufacturing operations are in accordance with Regal Marine Industries Inc's Safety Standards, including ensuring workplaces are safe, employees follow proper safety procedures, and preventing safety-related incidents.
Requirements
  • Bilingual: Must be bilingual (English/Spanish).
  • Time Management: Must be able to confirm time cards and effectively utilize our timekeeping system.
  • Labor Management: Must be able to manage labor hours to meet production rates effectively.
  • Communication: Must be able to conduct employee conversations to communicate expectations, performance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Leadership: Must be able to lead daily meetings with large teams to effectively detail recent progress, current state, and future strategy.
  • Safety and Quality: Must follow all safety standards and procedures, and have the ability to understand and adhere to all quality standards.
  • Teamwork: Must be able to work well with diverse teams.
  • Productivity: Must be able to coordinate production responsibilities to maximize productivity and deliver products on time.
  • Dependability: Must display a dependable demeanor and be able to be counted on to be here daily and get things done on time.
  • Communication: Must be able to understand and follow verbal and written directions.
  • Technical Skills: Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Docs & Sheets, and Outlook/Gmail.

  • Language: Conversational English.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: Previous experience with upholstery disciplines or related field of manufacturing.
  • Leadership Experience: Experience in a previous leadership position.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Have the ability to interact and communicate with department areas outside your area of responsibility.
  • Employee Development: Have the ability to recognize employees' strengths and weaknesses to put them in a position to win.
  • Education: A two or Four-year college degree.
