About the Role

The Clinical Pharmacist will play a crucial role in ensuring optimal patient care through medication management. You will work in a collaborative environment, contributing your expertise to enhance patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Medication Preparation: Collaborate with the pharmacy team to prepare medications by interpreting physician orders and ensuring therapeutic compatibility.
  2. Dispensing Medications: Oversee the dispensing process, ensuring compliance with legal and policy standards for pharmaceuticals.
  3. Patient Assessment: Evaluate the identity, strength, and purity of medications to ensure patient safety.
  4. Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate pharmacy records, including patient profiles and inventory management.
  5. Drug Therapy Monitoring: Monitor patient drug therapies and provide interventions as necessary.
  6. Workflow Management: Organize and direct the workflow of pharmacy technicians, ensuring quality and accuracy in medication preparation.
  7. Computer System Utilization: Use advanced computer systems to screen for potential drug interactions and ensure patient safety.
  8. Professional Development: Contribute to the training and development of pharmacy staff and healthcare professionals.
  9. Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to all state and federal regulations regarding pharmacy operations.
  10. Infection Control: Implement infection control protocols to protect patients and staff.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE).

Licenses/Certifications

  • North American Pharmacist Licensure Exam (NAPLEX)
  • Multistate Pharmacy Jurisprudence Exam (MPJE)
  • State-specific license as required

Experience:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a pharmacy setting is preferred, particularly in healthcare or long-term care environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software.
