This position operates from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and is eligible for State Benefits.

**A valid Georgia License and/or Nurse Licensure Compact Multi-State License is required to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in Georgia.

GeorgiaGov is also eligible for the Health Resources and Service Administration (HRSA) Nurse Corps Scholarship Program.

Job Overview:
This role involves planning, executing, and assessing nursing care for a designated unit or shift. The Nurse Manager ensures that staff members evaluate client health issues, create and implement nursing care strategies, and maintain accurate medical documentation. This position oversees the delivery and quality of nursing services to patients who are ill, injured, recovering, or disabled. The Nurse Manager also provides guidance to clients regarding health maintenance and disease prevention, and may engage in case management activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervises and organizes the work of assigned nursing staff.
  • Conducts interviews and selects new personnel, ensuring proper training for new hires.
  • Administers prescribed medications, documenting times and dosages in patient records.
  • Collaborates with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
  • Adjusts treatment plans based on patient responses and conditions.
  • Monitors all aspects of patient care, including dietary and physical activity.
  • Records and reports symptoms and changes in patient conditions.
  • Observes nursing staff and conducts patient visits to ensure appropriate nursing care is delivered.
  • Educates patients and their families on health-related topics.
  • Provides healthcare, first aid, and support during recovery and rehabilitation.
  • Participates in committees and special projects as assigned.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must possess a BSN with a minimum of 4 years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.
  • Requires at least 2 years of supervisory experience in a hospital setting managing 10 or more employees.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Mental Health facility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint, along with experience in implementing change processes.

Educational qualifications include a Master's degree in nursing, nursing administration, public health, or a related field from an accredited institution, along with one year in an administrative or supervisory role and a current Georgia license as a Registered Professional Nurse. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in nursing with four years of experience as a Registered Nurse, including two years in a supervisory capacity, or eight years of experience as a Registered Nurse, with two years in a relevant environment and three years in a supervisory role, is acceptable.
