Role Overview
The Software Asset Management Specialist is a vital individual contributor position focused on ensuring compliance with software licensing agreements. This role involves conducting thorough reviews of software usage and contracts, generating effective license position (ELP) reports utilizing ServiceNow SAMpro.

The incumbent will also identify and implement necessary remediation actions to ensure compliance. Furthermore, the Specialist will manage the strategic collaboration between the internal Software Owner and the IT Asset Management (ITAM) team, facilitating support renewals, strategic discussions, and demand planning.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze software asset data and produce comprehensive reports.
- Execute reconciliation processes by comparing entitlements with discovered software installations to ascertain effective license positions for relevant publishers.
- Review reconciliation reports to determine necessary actions for addressing non-compliant software installations.
- Oversee the remediation of non-compliant software installations.
- Update software models, DMAP, and suite inferences in ServiceNow SAMpro as needed.
- Assess whether available entitlements can be allocated before initiating procurement activities.
- Collaborate with the Software Asset Management team to publish authorized software in the Service Catalogue for end-user requests and fulfillment.
- Analyze software usage reports and establish removal criteria for infrequently utilized software.
- Assist with Software Asset Management audits.
- Collect data and report on the effectiveness of software asset management processes.
- Identify requirements for modifying SAM processes.

Qualifications and Skills
Minimum Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in Software Asset Management.
- 3+ years of experience in audit/compliance roles.
- Strong background in vendor management.
- Experience managing software publishers such as Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, OpenText, SAP, VMware, Citrix, Red Hat, and Adobe.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the software lifecycle from licensing to purchasing, deployment, and decommissioning.
- Proven experience or ITAM Certification in software asset management and IT asset management.
- In-depth understanding of Software Publishers' EULAs and license terms, as well as software license entitlements and use rights for complex license agreements.
- Demonstrated experience in developing strategies to rationalize and optimize license entitlements across the organization.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CSAM, CITAM, CHAMP, CAMSE or equivalent).
- Deep understanding of ServiceNow SAMPro.
- Self-motivated with strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of the banking industry and relevant laws and regulatory requirements related to IT Asset Management.
- Experience with Software Asset Management tools, preferably ServiceNow SAM PRO.
- Familiarity with the ServiceNow platform (Service Request, Contract, and SAM functions).
- FinOps Certification.
