Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residence Counselor to join our team at Mohawk Opportunities Inc. This is a full-time opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals living with mental illness, HIV/AIDS, and those who are homeless.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supportive counseling and rehabilitation skills to adults with mental illness living in a group home.
  • Teach daily living skills, including medication management and coping skills, crisis intervention, and prevention.
  • Organize recreation activities for socialization and stress reduction.
  • Maintain a healthy and clean environment for clients, ensuring they complete their chores correctly and assist with cleaning activities.
Requirements
  • College classes in human services, BA preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to help others.
  • Valid and insurable driver's license.
  • Experience working with people who have a diagnosis of mental illness or other human service experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
Benefits
  • $20.50/hour; $42,640.00/annual equivalent.
