Mohawk Opportunities Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Residence Counselor to join our team in a group home setting. As a key member of our staff, you will provide essential support services to adults living with mental illness, helping them achieve stable community living and independence.
Key Responsibilities- Provide Supportive Counseling: Offer emotional support and guidance to clients, helping them navigate life challenges and develop coping skills.
- Teach Daily Living Skills: Assist clients in developing essential skills for independent living, including medication management, time management, and personal care.
- Facilitate Recreation Activities: Organize and lead socialization and stress-reduction activities, promoting a healthy and positive living environment.
- Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment: Ensure the group home is clean, organized, and safe for clients, with a focus on promoting independence and self-sufficiency.
- Education and Experience: College classes in human services, BA preferred; demonstrated ability in helping others; valid and insurable driver's license; experience working with people with mental illness or other human service experience.
- Skills and Qualities: Ability to work independently and as a team member; excellent communication skills; organizational and time management skills; ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Competitive Salary: $20.50/hour; $42,640.00/annual equivalent
