About the Role

Mohawk Opportunities Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residence Counselor to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with mental illness in achieving stable community living and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide supportive counseling and rehabilitation skills to clients, including teaching daily living skills, medication management, and coping skills.
  • Develop and implement recreation activities for socialization and stress reduction.
  • Maintain a healthy and clean environment for clients, ensuring they complete their chores correctly and assisting with cleaning activities as needed.
Requirements
  • College classes in human services, BA preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to help others.
  • Valid and insurable driver's license.
  • Experience working with people who have a diagnosis of mental illness or other human service experience.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
What We Offer
  • $20.50/hour; $42,640.00/annual equivalent.
