Job Summary

As a Store Manager at Optimum, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our retail store locations, ensuring that sales, productivity, accuracy, quality, and sales goals are met for all offered products and services. You will mentor, coach, and engage with employees and customers to drive sales and provide exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performance Management: Monitor the performance of the Retail Store staff and provide feedback to ensure maximum customer satisfaction. Identify training needs and workload requirements with available resources.
  • Cash Handling: Ensure accurate cash handling, including training for all Retail Store employees to ensure accuracy and auditing.
  • Employee Development: Ensure the competency and continuity of qualified Retail Sales Agents through effective training, motivation, coaching, development, and performance recognition.
  • Quality Service: Conduct monitoring in accordance with Company policy to ensure quality service and customer satisfaction.
  • Administrative Tasks: Assist in maintenance of employee data and payroll/attendance records. Ensure timely and accurate openings/closings for the Retail Store.
  • Expense Control: Assist management with expense control, including Overtime, T&E, and other departmental expenditures.
  • Cash Variances: Notify Manager, Director, and VP of any cash variances equal or greater than $100. Conduct disciplinary action as necessary.
  • Communication: Participate in and facilitate regularly scheduled department conference calls and meetings.
  • Sales Goals: Ensure that sales goals are clearly communicated to each RSA and monitor performance daily.
  • Retail Sales Strategies: Develop and implement retail sales strategies for store and serve as a strategic partner in the overall operation of the organization.
  • Sales and Service Focus: Exceed growth and profit objectives by maximizing each customer interaction. Drive sales of Optimum products and services while keeping a keen focus on efficient operations to ensure maximum profitability.
  • Planograms and Merchandising: Ensure that all planograms and merchandising displays meet Company standards.
  • Store Traffic: Partner with other channels to drive store traffic and participate in internal and external events to create location awareness.
  • Travel: Flexibility in traveling to alternate store locations.
  • Performance Supervision: Supervise and manage performance, attendance, and training requirements.
  • Hiring and Performance Reviews: Assist Retail Market Manager with hiring, ongoing performance reviews, and plan of action for underperforming Retail Sales Consultants.
Qualifications
  • Education: Associate Degree in Business preferred; High School degree is required; minimum of five years related Sales experience in a customer relations environment.
  • Experience: 3 years in a high-volume customer service/sales/retail environment.
  • Language: Bilingual - Spanish highly preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to work well under pressure while performing multiple tasks. Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. Proficiency in using Windows and Microsoft Office software, including Excel and Word.
  • Leadership: Robust supervisory skills including coaching, mentoring, motivation, recognition, and time management preferred.
  • Travel: Valid Driver License and ability to travel to multiple locations required (within 35 miles).
  • Communication: Excellent listening skills and patience. Excellent analytical problem-solving and conflict resolution skills. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Customer Service: Excellent customer service skills. Ability to lead and motivate a high-performance sales team. Ability to lead and supervise others in a retail sales environment with high sales and service focus.
