About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical Systems Specialist to join our team at Strata Clean Energy. As a key member of our operations and maintenance team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our utility-scale solar and storage systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safety First: Uphold a culture of safety by ensuring strict adherence to OSHA, NFPA, state and local codes, and Strata Solar Services safety protocols.
  • Electrical Expertise: Develop a profound understanding of electrical theory to interpret design drawings and promptly identify and escalate any electrical safety hazards.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Execute both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks, focusing on enhancing plant performance and operational efficiency.
  • Tool Proficiency: Utilize a range of tools including multimeters, low resistance Ohmmeters, PV Analyzers, IR thermometers, IR cameras, and hand-held irradiance meters for electrical maintenance duties.
  • Pre-Job Briefings: Conduct pre-job safety briefings and ensure compliance with all safety procedures before commencing work.
  • Training and Development: Attend training sessions at local and remote facilities to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Travel and Site Work: Travel to remote sites within the operating fleet to provide assistance and ensure successful project completion.
  • Lockout/Tagout Procedures: Implement Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures to maintain compliance with electrical isolation protocols.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and diagnose common Direct Current (DC) faults within the PV plant.
  • Documentation: Complete and submit all assigned inspection and testing data promptly and accurately.
  • Communication: Document all completed work using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) and other organizational platforms.
  • Technical Skills: Extract data files, troubleshoot communication issues, and operate monitoring software using PCs or tablets.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent.
  • Experience: Minimum three (3) years of experience working with energized AC or DC systems, or other relevant experience preferred.
  • Electrical Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate basic working knowledge of electrical theory & PV power generating system fundamentals.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to read and understand electrical drawings and schematics.
  • Collaboration: Aptitude for learning and understanding operation of various testing equipment, tools and procedures utilized in the maintenance of PV power generation systems.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate and coordinate well with peer Technicians and other personnel, vendors, and subcontractors.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with MS Office applications to include but not limited to MS Word and Excel, as well as an ability to learn new computer programs without difficulty.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to work in an outdoor environment and be able to travel occasionally to remote project sites.
  • Physical Abilities: Must be able to sit, stand or walk for the entire duration of a shift. Must be able to stoop, kneel or bend. Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 lbs overhead repeatedly.
