Position Overview

The Clinical Operations Supervisor will deliver exceptional operational and clinical guidance within the organization. This role is pivotal in achieving clinical goals and enhancing patient health by overseeing daily management and strategic planning of the nursing department. The Supervisor will lead and mentor the clinical staff, work collaboratively with healthcare providers, and ensure comprehensive support for patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Strategic Direction:
    • Foster a culture of high-quality, patient-focused care by engaging with operational and medical leadership on process enhancements.
    • Maintain visibility within the organization by participating in committees and initiatives that align with the organization's objectives.
    • Work alongside leadership to formulate and execute strategic plans that reflect the mission and vision of the organization.
  • Clinical Operations Management:
    • Oversee daily clinical operations, ensuring compliance with established policies and regulatory standards.
    • Develop and implement standard operating procedures for clinical support staff, ensuring their proficiency and adherence to care standards.
    • Lead initiatives aimed at improving patient outcomes and satisfaction through quality enhancement measures.
    • Analyze clinical performance data and patient feedback to identify areas for improvement.
  • Staff Recruitment and Development:
    • Attract, hire, and train skilled clinical support personnel.
    • Provide continuous coaching and performance assessments to promote staff growth and engagement.
    • Address performance challenges promptly, offering constructive feedback and necessary disciplinary actions.
    • Encourage a collaborative team environment that fosters effective communication and problem-solving.
    • Step in to provide nursing support during staffing shortages.
  • Operational Efficiency:
    • Maintain a high level of expertise in clinical and administrative processes, serving as a resource for staff training.
    • Organize daily staff assignments to ensure smooth operations.
    • Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement improvements to enhance productivity and patient care.
    • Ensure timely patient flow and a positive care experience.
    • Manage inventory control procedures to maintain adequate clinical supplies while minimizing waste.
  • Patient Safety and Care:
    • Ensure a safe and hygienic patient care environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols.
    • Collaborate with clinical professionals to address complex patient care needs.
    • Advocate for patient-centered care, ensuring their needs and concerns are prioritized.
  • Regulatory Compliance:
    • Prepare the clinic for inspections and audits by regulatory bodies.
    • Stay informed about relevant regulations, ensuring compliance across all clinical operations.
    • Develop and revise policies and procedures as necessary.
  • Additional Duties:
    • Engage in community programs and professional organizations to represent the organization and stay informed about industry developments.
    • Perform other related duties as assigned, demonstrating flexibility to meet the evolving needs of the organization.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required; Master's Degree preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program and current state licensure required.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Seven to ten years of nursing experience with a minimum of three years in a leadership capacity.
  • Ability to effectively engage with all staff levels and foster a supportive team environment.
  • Proven capability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational setting.
  • Experience in initiating departmental improvements and setting clinical objectives for nursing staff.
  • Exposure to body fluids and hazardous materials, with adherence to OSHA standards and universal precautions.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with varying levels of stress.
