Production Supervisor

The Production Supervisor - 2nd Shift is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing process to ensure the production of high-quality products at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company standards for quality and performance, and customer specifications and delivery requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments to ensure efficient production.
- Directly supervise production functions to ensure quality and productivity.
- Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules.
- Interpret specifications and drawings, and delegate job orders and work duties to production staff.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to improve processes, methods, productivity, and quality.
- Analyze and resolve production problems, or assist workers in solving problems.
- Inspect products prior to shipping to verify conformance to specifications.
- Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve departmental goals.
- Organize orders for upcoming dates in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure the training of new and present employees in processes and methods required to achieve company standards.
- Keep management informed on general conditions and matters of importance that could impact quality, cost, safety, or employee morale.
- Handle employee relations issues.
- Develop and maintain positive employee relations and ensure open lines of communication with employees.
- Recruit, interview, and hire the right employees for open positions.
- Ensure the completion of all required records, paperwork, reports, documents, etc.
- Ensure organizational compliance with all local, state, and federal regulatory agencies.
- Ensure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations.
- Ensure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards.
- Demonstrated ability in using Lean manufacturing tools and processes to drive continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) as well as Internet software and email.
- Knowledge of and experience in ERP systems.
- Experienced in performance management and possesses the skills to coach, guide, and influence.
- Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or 5+ years manufacturing leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
- Experience in Lean manufacturing preferred.
