Marine Construction Project Manager

A Marine/Heavy Civil Construction Company in the United States is seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a strong background in marine construction. The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of experience in managing marine construction projects involving pile driving, rigging, cofferdams, concrete, dredging, piers, bridges, timber construction, and equipment operation.
About the RoleThe Operations Manager will be responsible for planning, directing, and supervising workers engaged in marine construction activities. This includes planning, organizing, directing, and controlling methods of construction, manpower levels, material quantities, equipment, work schedule, and reviewing documentation.
Responsibilities- Plan, direct, and supervise workers engaged in marine construction activities.
- Coordinate assigned work with in-house trades, subcontractors, and company departments.
- Conduct project safety meetings and enforce compliance with project safety program requirements for all in-house trades and subcontractors.
- Supervise, mentor, and coach foremen in your assigned work area as it relates to company policies, procedures, and technical work requirements.
- Provide liaison between field engineering, estimating, and trade to ensure compliance of construction with plans and specifications and that work is carried out to the highest standard.
- Inspect work areas to determine type of work required, materials, and equipment to be used at the job site.
- Coordinate and execute mobilization efforts and job site setup.
- Resolve construction problems (lack of productivity, work interfaces, etc.) and constructability challenges as required.
- Ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc., support craft activities, and project schedules are maintained throughout assigned projects.
- 5+ years of experience as a Field Superintendent in the marine/heavy-civil construction industry.
- Estimating and Bid Experience.
- Computer Skills – Microsoft Office Software.
- Valid Driver License.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Demonstrates effective leadership skills.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- NCCCO Crane Operator Certification a plus.
$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
