We are seeking an experienced Framer / Carpenter to join our team at Lynnhaven Marine and Dock, Inc. as a Full Time employee.

This is a great opportunity for a skilled individual to work in marine/heavy-civil construction with 5+ years of experience building structures on timber piles.

  • Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year based on experience
  • Valid Driver's License required
Job Summary

The primary responsibilities of this role include building, installing, and repairing structures, fixtures, and other items using different types of materials including wood and steel.

  • Work with various materials such as wood, plastic, fiberglass, or drywall
  • Utilize tools like chisels, planes, saws, drills, and sanders to repair and erect structures
  • Join materials with nails, screws, staples, or adhesives
  • Work on elevated surfaces
  • Use levels, rules, plumb bobs, framing squares, and surveying equipment to ensure everything is level and secure
  • Create structures for pouring concrete
  • Erect scaffolding
  • Move and install machinery
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Framer Carpenter in the marine / heavy-civil construction industry
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to perform layout and determine elevations (a plus)
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Adequate transportation to and from the jobsite
