Key Responsibilities for the Prep Cook:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to our residents.
  • Assist the Culinary Director in the effective onboarding and training of new personnel.
  • Ensure staff adhere to uniform standards on a daily basis.
  • Familiarize oneself with all policies outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Maintain hygienic food handling practices and uphold sanitation standards in the food service area.
  • Engage with residents during meal times to assess their satisfaction.
  • Prepare food and supplies for special events in collaboration with the Executive Director and Lifestyle Director.
  • Ensure cleanliness in dining areas.
  • Supervise the correct operation of all dietary equipment.
  • Implement emergency procedures as necessary during shifts.
  • Identify and report maintenance needs or issues.
  • Participate in prospective resident tours.
  • Adhere to regulatory compliance as required.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Culinary Director or Executive Director.
  • All Assistant Cooks are required to obtain and maintain a Serve Safe Certificate.
