Job Overview

The Recovery Center of Maryland, LLC is dedicated to assisting individuals in overcoming the challenges posed by addiction to alcohol and other substances. Our commitment lies in providing high-quality, gender-responsive, and trauma-informed care to those grappling with substance use and co-occurring disorders. The role of the Outreach Specialist is crucial in fostering partnerships within the community to build a robust referral network that directs clients to our treatment services.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain direct connections with community members to facilitate self-referrals into our services.
  • Forge relationships with local shelters, transitional housing programs, probation and parole offices, hospitals, and inpatient facilities to enhance networking and referral opportunities.
  • Utilize a strengths-based and trauma-informed methodology to collaborate effectively with clients and both internal and external team members, supporting clients throughout their treatment and recovery journey.
  • Ensure adherence to all internal and external policies, procedures, regulations, and standards, including the agency's Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Document and monitor information related to referrals and their sources.
  • Provide insights on referral trends and contribute to the development of improvement strategies.
  • Engage in all required meetings, staff development sessions, and training activities.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED; an Associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in community outreach is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal and engagement capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficient written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Commitment to supporting the agency's mission and demonstrating cultural sensitivity and workplace harmony.
  • Ability to deliver exceptional customer service.

  • Effective communication skills to interact with colleagues, the public, and clients.
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license with adequate automobile insurance.
  • Willingness to travel as required for the position.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and software.
  • Capability to produce clear and understandable written communication.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment driven by team performance.
