Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Triad Financial Services, Inc. in Jacksonville, FL. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting, as well as implementing and maintaining robust internal controls.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and review financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies.
  • Conduct thorough reconciliations of all general ledger accounts, including bank reconciliations and intercompany transactions, and investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Lead and manage accounting projects from inception to completion, including system upgrades, process improvements, and special financial analyses, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and successful project outcomes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust internal control procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data, performing periodic internal control reviews and recommending improvements as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts, analyzing variances and providing actionable insights to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Support external and internal audit activities by providing necessary documentation and explanations, addressing audit findings and implementing corrective actions as required.
  • Ensure adherence to financial regulations and standards, including tax laws and company policies, staying updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and provide guidance on complex accounting issues, conducting training sessions to enhance the team's technical skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with CPA or equivalent certification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in a senior or supervisory role, with a proven track record of managing accounting projects and implementing internal controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis, with strong experience with accounting software and ERP systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with a focus on delivering results on time and within scope.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide strategic recommendations.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in financial reporting and analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
