Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Systems Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. Key Responsibilities
  • System Design and Development: Design and develop system architectures, specifications, and detailed schematics for system communications systems.
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams, including system engineers, software developers, and network administrators.
  • System Testing and Validation: Conduct thorough testing and validation of system designs to ensure they meet business requirements and technical specifications.
  • System Configuration and Maintenance: Maintain system configuration control over software and hardware, including version and configuration management.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain technical expertise in all areas of system and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, including routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc.
  • Technology Evaluation and Reporting: Evaluate and report on new communications technologies to enhance capabilities of the network.
  • System PDR/CDR/FAT/SAT Activities: Contribute to system PDR/CDR/FAT/SAT activities, including product deliveries such as ICDs, emulator/simulator baseline control, test plans, systems diagrams, integration/deployment work instructions, production and test system hardware.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accomplish mission goals, including coordinating end-to-end system testing during the I&T phase and segmenting end-to-end architecture design, requirements, management, and development.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineer, Math or related area) and 9+ years of experience, Master's Degree and 7 years, additional experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Clearance: Position requires an active Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance at time of application.
  • Technical Skills: Must have experience designing, developing, building, testing, and maintaining system and computing infrastructure, including identifying systems anomalies and troubleshooting (network/custom applications/COTS software/server infrastructure). Must have knowledge of virtualization sustainment/maintenance, STIG and SCAP scanning, and utilize sound engineering practices to develop, implement, and maintain end-to-end ground systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Certifications: CompTIA Security + or equivalent, Linux experience (user level), Virtualization (vSphere ESXi), DoD Satcom Security Experience: Cybersecurity and IA/IS OpSec –, Risk Management Framework –
