Key Responsibilities
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with healthcare providers, parents, school staff, and community agencies to ensure access and continuity of care for students.
  • Health Program Development
    • Assist in the establishment and maintenance of a comprehensive school health program.
  • Health Data Management
    • Collect and maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with state and federal law, and Board of Education policies.
  • Nursing Care and Intervention
    • Conduct nursing assessments for students who are ill or injured; provide first aid, nursing care, and referrals as needed.
    • Evaluate nursing care provided and make necessary changes to the plan of care.
  • Health Education and Guidance
    • Provide guidance, counseling, and health education to students, parents, and employees as needed.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Report to parents, school district personnel, physicians, clinics, and others as needed to meet student health needs.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Master's degree in nursing or a related field.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in school nursing or a related field.
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Knowledge of school health policies and procedures.
