Position Overview

The College Access Consultant (CAC) plays a crucial role in delivering personalized college counseling services to students. This position is focused on empowering low-income and middle-class high school seniors by guiding them through the college application process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct Student Support: Provide individualized assistance to a designated group of high school seniors, ensuring that services are primarily delivered on-site at their respective schools.
  • College List Development: Assist students in creating a tailored list of colleges that aligns with their academic profiles and financial considerations.
  • Essay Support: Facilitate brainstorming sessions and revisions for college application essays, utilizing both in-person and remote support methods.
  • Application Guidance: Help students identify and complete any outstanding application materials throughout the academic year.
  • Financial Aid Support: Guide students in submitting necessary financial aid forms and understanding their financial aid packages, ensuring they make informed decisions regarding college affordability.
  • Community Engagement: Actively participate in school events and collaborate with faculty to enhance the college-going culture within the school.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Strong writing and editing abilities
  • Experience in building trusting relationships with students
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the organization

Preferred:

  • Conversational proficiency in Spanish
  • Ability to connect with students on a personal level
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $42,000 to $46,000, with opportunities for professional growth in areas such as event planning and grant writing. A monthly stipend for travel expenses is also provided.
