Adjunct Faculty Pool Instructor

Cleveland State Community College is seeking qualified adjunct faculty members to teach in the Administrative Professional Technology program. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students and maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom.
Responsibilities- Plan and teach classes as assigned, adhering to course descriptions and departmental guidelines.
- Ensure all classes begin and end as scheduled, covering relevant learning outcomes for each course.
- Maintain academic standards and classroom behavior, communicating with students regularly and responding to their emails in a timely manner.
- Evaluate students using various methods and inform them of their scores in a timely manner.
- Use Cleveland State email for administrative purposes and respond to student inquiries via email in a timely manner.
- Meet deadlines for administrative requests, including submitting personnel paperwork, acknowledging contracts, and final grades.
- Request equipment, supplies, textbooks, and other instructional aids through the department chair, program coordinator/director, or lead teacher.
A bachelor's degree or higher in a qualifying field is preferred. An associate degree in a qualifying field may be considered with two or more of the following: professional certifications, documentation of professional employment, teaching excellence awards, research or publications, and/or relevant additional coursework beyond the associate's degree.
AvailabilityThis posting is not a guarantee of an open position. Applications for adjunct faculty positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring, and summer. Postings close yearly on October 31; to maintain your application within the system, you will need to re-apply each year.
Application RequirementsAn application packet should consist of a cover letter, a transcript, a resume/CV, and three references to be considered for an adjunct faculty position. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for the application process. Official transcripts will be required upon hire. Applicants may be subject to a background check.
CompensationAdjunct faculty pay rates are based on educational qualifications. The rates per credit hour for each educational level are as follows:
- Less than Bachelor's degree: $500
- Bachelor's degree: $525
- Master's degree: $550
- Master's plus 30 semester hours (ABD): $575
- Doctorate: $600
