Job Summary:

Cleveland State Community College is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach in our First Year Seminar program. As an adjunct faculty member, you will be responsible for providing quality instruction and maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and teach classes as assigned, adhering to course descriptions and departmental guidelines.
  • Ensure academic standards and classroom behavior, communicating with students regularly and responding to emails in a timely manner.
  • Evaluate students using various methods and inform them of scores received in a timely manner.
  • Meet deadlines for administrative requests, such as submitting personnel paperwork and final grades.
  • Submit requests for equipment, supplies, and instructional aids through the department chair or program coordinator.

Qualifications:

A Master's degree in a qualifying field from an accredited institution or a Master's degree from an accredited institution with 18 graduate semester hours in any combination of related qualifying fields is required. Experience with alternative delivery instructional modes is preferred but not required.

Availability:

Applications for adjunct faculty positions are accepted on a continuous basis and reviewed by the department when openings become available. Future teaching assignments are on a term-by-term basis, which may include fall, spring, and summer.

Compensation:

Adjunct faculty pay rates are based on educational qualifications. The rates per credit hour for each educational level are as follows:

  • Master's degree: $550
  • Master's plus 30 semester hours (ABD): $575
  • Doctorate: $600
