Job Title: Full Time Audiology Faculty Position Tenure Stream

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced audiologist to join our faculty as a tenure-track assistant/associate professor in the Department of Communication Science and Disorders at the University of Pittsburgh. The successful candidate will have a strong research background in hearing science, auditory neuroscience, or a related field, and will be expected to establish an extramurally funded research program in their area of expertise.

Responsibilities:
  • Engage in projects that seek to advance outcomes associated with hearing science and hearing disorders or a related field.
  • Lead an extramurally funded research program in their area of research expertise and provide students with access to high-quality research training experiences in their laboratory.
  • Leverage collaborative relationships with clinical and research collaborators within a vibrant healthcare community that includes the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), Veteran's Administration Medical Center (VAMC), and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU).
  • Engage in didactic, seminar, and/or clinical teaching and mentoring of students (teaching assignments may vary depending on salary support from funded research).
  • Direct student research within areas of expertise at all levels of the curriculum (e.g., Undergraduate Honors Theses, Doctor of Audiology (AuD), and PhD research experiences).
Qualifications:
  • A doctoral degree in Communication Science and Disorders and/or related fields with demonstrated expertise in specified subject areas.
  • Priority will be given to candidates whose scholarship and discovery will contribute to advancing the science of hearing and hearing disorders in adults.
