Job Summary

The Texas Department of Aging & Disability Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to fill the role of Campus/Shift Coordinator. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the State Supported Living Center, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and services to individuals with disabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee all shift activities within residential services, ensuring adequate staff coverage and effective delivery of care and support activities.
  • Monitor the homes, infirmary, activity centers, and grounds, addressing unusual occurrences and emergencies promptly and effectively.
  • Provide coaching and in-service training to staff as needed, ensuring they possess the necessary skills and knowledge to provide exceptional care and support.
  • Serve as the contact person for abuse/neglect allegations and respond immediately to ensure the safety and health of individuals.
  • Conduct special audits and reviews as scheduled or requested by facility administration, ensuring ongoing service delivery and the health and safety of individuals served.
  • Collaborate with administrative and supervisory staff to coordinate and monitor service delivery, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective action plans.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of individual care techniques and treatment, therapy, and developmental programs.
  • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner.
  • Skills in using good judgment and making effective decisions when dealing with unusual/critical incidents.
  • Ability to work effectively with others and as a member of a team.
  • Ability to react quickly and calmly in an emergency.
  • Ability to train staff in job-related subject areas.
Working Conditions

This position may be required to work a specific shift schedule or rotating schedule, extended shift, and/or overtime in accordance with agency leave policy. The ability to drive a state-owned vehicle may also be required.
